| Lladyhawk Llamas is 37 picturesque acres overlooking Long’s Peak in Longmont, Colorado. Our well-maintained farm is home to a small, llovingly cared for herd of llamas. We know and appreciate the individual personality of each one. We welcome visitors at any time, and welcome the opportunity to educate folks that may be new to llamas.
You will find it hard to resist being “owned” by a llama! Stop by and let us introduce you to our kids and the llama llifestyle we llove! |

Companionship - there’s just nothing better than a llama friend! |
|
Guards - llamas have become increasingly popular as deterrents to predators
for those raising herds of sheep, goats, alpacas, even fowl. Generally, geldings were considered to be the best choice, but we believe that the natural nurturing, protective instincts of the females make them just as effective. It is a nice "job" for a female llama that can no longer be a breeder (due to low milk production, age, etc.) |

"Trudy and her sheep" |
We have placed several with great success. Here are some links to read about llamas as guards. If you are interested, we also have available a wonderful article that appeared in
the March '04 RMLA Journal about females being used successfully.
